What is Trane Refrigeration Oil?

The following is an overview of the development of Trane refrigeration oils:
Early Refrigerant Era: In the early 1900s, as Trane became involved in the refrigeration industry, the refrigerant oils used were primarily mineral oils. These oils were designed for use with early CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) refrigerants such as R12.

HFC refrigerant applications: Trane uses polyester oils (POE) or polyether oils (PAG), which have better solubility and chemical stability for modern high-efficiency refrigeration systems.

Current Trend: Trane's refrigeration oils are typically high performance synthetic oils, including but not limited to POE and PAG types.

The working principle of Trane refrigeration oil
1. Lubrication
Adding Trane refrigeration oil can keep the compressor fully lubricated in operation, reduce the friction generated during the operation of the equipment, and reduce the degree of wear and tear, so as to achieve the purpose of extending the service life of the compressor.

2. Sealing effect
Through the isolation of air, refrigeration oil can make the compressor between the piston and cylinder surface, between the various rotating bearings to achieve the effect of sealing, effectively preventing refrigerant leakage, to ensure the sealing performance and safety of the system.

3. Cooling effect
Add the right amount of Trane Refrigeration Oil can take away the heat generated during the movement of the equipment, but also reduce the temperature of the components, improve the efficiency of the compressor and the reliability of the use of the process.

The characteristics of Trane Refrigeration Oil include the following:
1.High miscibility: Good miscibility with the refrigerant R514A used in Trane centrifugal compressors, ensuring stable system operation.

2.Excellent lubricity: It can reduce the friction and wear inside the compressor, and prolong the service life of the compressor.

3.Good chemical stability: It is not easy to have chemical reaction with the refrigerant, keeping the oil stable.

4.Good thermal stability: It is not easy to oxidise and decompose under high temperature environment to maintain lubrication performance.
